Shihan Dai Jessica Verbakel
Shihan Dai Jessica began her Martial Arts training when she was three years old, and has been studying Karate since. Other than a brief absence to study dance, Karate has been the major part of her life for nearly 17 years. She is currently the head instructor at Elora Family Martial Arts Centre. Shihan Dai was and still is very competitive and still competes regularly. She has won three consecutive Canadian Championships in Kumite, as well as World Championships. She has studied Okinawan Shorin Ryu, White Crane Kung Fu, Shidokan, Kobudo, and Iaido. Under Kyoshi Frank Verbakel, she tested for and received her Shodan in Okinawan Shorin Ryu in July of 2006, and in July 2007 she achieved her Nidan. In August 2008, she travelled down to Florida to test for her Sandan. She now trains three nights a week and is very dedicated to her students at Elora Family Martial Arts Centre.
